    Newbie Questions and Suggestions

I just downloaded the free evaluation 2 days ago, and have been adding records and liking the program so far. There's a few things I'd like to do and I'm not sure if they can be done now, If not, please consider for future enhancements to the product.

    - one central repository of Organizations & Individuals for all PHRs vs Copy records since they change over time.
    - add/delete values in drop-down lists permanently vs just adding each time
    - copy more records within same PHR?
    - New Customization did not work from Home page.
    - Why can't a Provider be associated with more than one Organization (i.e. clinic and hospital)?
    - info on updates: schedule and costs

    Thanks! :)

    Re: Newbie Questions and Suggestions

Welcome to the HealthFrame User's Forum, Drix!  Thank you for taking the time to post your questions and suggestions.

    - one central repository of Organizations & Individuals for all PHRs vs Copy records since they change over time.

Contact management, especially having the ability to share them among multiple PHRs in HealthFrame, has been a  common request for improvement in the HealthFrame user experience.  This is an area that we hope to improve in future releases and our development team is considering interfaces that will make that easier to accomplish.

    - add/delete values in drop-down lists permanently vs just adding each time

We are considering a number of ways to make user additions 'permanent'.  As you indicate, HealthFrame remembers additions to drop-down lists, but currently on a use basis, not across login sessions.  Customizations (accessible via the ellipsis - ... - button) are an example of the initial support we have built into HealthFrame to allow for user-specific configurations.  Some users have difficulty understanding personalization capabilities and we have been relying on the customization feature to 'pilot' user interfaces that are consistent and accessible enough to make them useful.

    - copy more records within same PHR?
Currently, in HealthFrame, we support copying and pasting of records for family members, individual and organizational providers.  What would you consider the next most useful types of records to support copy/paste: tests, visits, treatments, medications?

    - New Customization did not work from Home page.
"New Customization" acts as a 'reset' of pre-configured settings.  In other words, if you haven't yet created a customization, you wouldn't see any changes per se.

Here are the steps to take to customize the Home page - and any other pages:

    1. Start by resetting any configuration settings to the 'default' configuration - "New Customization"
    2. Make a change to your 'current configuration'.  For instance, if you have marked any pages as 'favorite', in the Home page you can choose to 'Show > Favorites'.  You should now see links to your favorite pages on the bottom of the Home Page.
    3. You can experiment with other settings too, selecting the subset of "Your Health" information you'd like to see displayed (e.g. Conditions and Medications).
    4. Once you're satisfied with your settings, use the "Save Customization As..." menu and give it a name.  Now, anytime you want to change the look and feel of your Home Page, you just have to select from among your saved customizations.
    - Why can't a Provider be associated with more than one Organization (i.e. clinic and hospital)?

This is a limitation of the current data model and has been marked for improvement in future releases.

    - info on updates: schedule and costs

Records For Living does not pre-announce releases.  Any customer who purchases HealthFrame has the right to free 'point release' upgrades.  The only time you'll be asked to pay for an upgrade cost is when we go to a 'major' release (typically every 18 - 24 months), if you choose to upgrade.

The retail price for the electronic version of HealthFrame is $39.95, or $49.95 if you purchase a physical CD.  Records For Living has re-distribution and partnership agremeents available to healthcare professionals.  If you are interested, please contact info@RecordsForLiving.com for more details.

Thank you very much for your interest in HealthFrame and for your questions and suggestions.  We look forward to your feedback in the future.

I would consider the next most useful types of records to support copy/paste would be tests and visits first, then treatments and medications.

Is there a way to delete a bad value added to a drop-down?

    Drix,

Thank you for your follow-up and preference clarification for copy/paste support.

As for deleting 'bad values' added to a drop-down, they're only present if you have cases where you are using the value.  For instance, say you go to a visit record and you enter a 'bad type' for a visit (maybe it was a typo or you changed your mind about the 'type' category).

The 'bad type' list entry will show up in that drop-down (at the bottom), so long as you use it.  As soon as you pick another entry and save it, the 'bad type' entry should go away.
