The lookup of Condition Types is incomplete when compared to the Library Reference Look-up.  For example, when using the "Select Condition" dialog box to look-up the condition 'pruritus', the dialog only presents two (2) items.  When looking up 'pruritus' in the Library Reference Lookup, eight (8) items are presented.

This may be a bug but would like to know if there is a way to import the latest IDC9 code list into HealthFrame Explorer?

The difference between the two result sets you got when you ran the query for 'pruritus' is due to the search criteria that were used for the queries.  When you go to the Library Reference Look-up, the default search criteria are: "Starts With" + "Primary Name" + "Any Category" + search value.  When you are inside of a specific area, such as "Conditions", instead of "Any Category", the specific type of information is searched.

Please note in the image below, that the results you reported (8 vs 2) are consistent with the search criteria being used.  Some of the results that show up for 'pruritus' have been categorized as 'symptoms' and not 'conditions'.

Codes will be upgraded in future releases of HealthFrame.  Even though the library modules are expressible as importable XML structures, there is significant categorization effort that is done prior to importing code updates into the application.

Thanks for noting HealthFrame's use of categorized 'symptoms' and 'conditions'.  This does present a problem in that it prevents the notation of a valid diagnostic code to be associated to an office visit.   

 

I have not been able to come up with a workaround, which is a legitimate one, to note this.  One fix would be to add a link to 'Symptoms' option in the 'Related Information' section of 'Visits' object.  Another may be to review if the categorizing methodology being used is correct.

 

If you have another method (other than just adding it as a text entry) on how to note a Symptom categorized diagnostic code for an office visit, please let me know.
