    Office Open XML: Part 1 - What does it mean for HealthFrame Users?

    Today, Records For Living announced support for integration with Office Open XML through a combination of new OpenHealth Services (OHS) plug-ins and Office Open XML templates. Office Open XML is an Ecma standard for the internal formatting of office files like word processing documents, spreadsheets or presentations.

    Office Open XML is supported by a number of different office suites, running in a number of different platforms, including Microsoft Office 2007, Apple's iPhone, Corel Wordperfect, Dataviz DocumentsToGo for PalmOS, etc (for a more complete and up-to-date listing of office suites that support Office Open XML, please look at wikipedia).

    What does this mean for HealthFrame users and how does it help you better manage your health and better communicate with your healthcare providers?

    At a high level, HealthFrame users and their healthcare providers will be able to:
    1. Generate word processing documents containing summary report information about their medical record;
    2. Fill in word processing forms and import the data into their personal health record; and
    3. Generate documents that will be edited with a word processor and later merged back into HealthFrame.

    This is the first of a four-part series of posts to the HealthFrame user community forum, explaining in greater detail how this new feature, available free of charge to all HealthFrame 2.1.6 users, can significantly improve the benefits of using HealthFrame for your family's health care management.

    We are very happy to be able to offer this support to our customers because we believe we will be able to work even closer with our community of users and providers and more effectively address your needs.

    As always, we look forward to your feedback,
    Your HealthFrame Team
