Thanks Jennifer! This is a great idea! But I HOPE the features we're working on (better filtering) will allow you to use normal visit types, and still be able to break down your visits by the sorts of logical categories you want. Please also look at the new Visit Summary report which has group by Provider, which might help.

I don't know if this helps, but I created my own visit types so that I could filter by visits (i.e., Allergy Visit, Primary Care Visit, Eye Doctor Visit, etc.). That allows me to not only filter by date, but to group all of my specialty appointments together so that I can quickly find information. Don't know if that will achieve what you are ...

FYI, the issue with date filters not working correctly (last N years, etc) has been fixed for v3.0.1 (available very soon). The rest we'll need to dig into and respond to later.
