    Recommend Scheduling Feature v2.1.6

Previous posts 410, 412 and 416 touched on the subject of programmed scheduling, but reached no conclusion. Presently HFE allows scheduling by entering each event individually in Visit or Treatment. What I would propose is a means to “schedule” future and periodic Visits and Treatments that initiate programmatically and transfer to the Calendar.

The software "Quicken" has an excellent scheduling / calendar feature as a model to follow. Placing this feature on each new Visit and Treatment page might clutter the current presentation. Consider placing the option in a icon link which will display when clicked.

    Hello, Robert!

Thank you for bringing this topic up again.  This does in fact seem like a 'recurring' topic - pardon the pun...  Smile [:)] There are a couple of points to consider with setting up recurring calendar events in HealthFrame:

    • Identifying the appropriate amount of information that gets repeated in each recurrence (e.g. Provider, but not necessarily visit notes or attachments or links?).
It is interesting to note that financial software has a well defined information set that gets captured: frequency of payments, payee, amount and account link/information.  With visits and treatment events it is a litle more complicated and I think we will tend to be conservative in our interpretation - which will mean that some amount of manual changes may still be required.
    • Limiting clutter that may be created by future appointments.  A lot of our users have increasingly large personal health records and we need to consider ways to make sure their information remains manageable.  This is an area where we are considering ways of simplifying the visual representation of upcoming events.  Note that calendar display is not the issue, but the listing views we provide for visits and treatments, etc.

Thanks and keep your feedback coming!
