Dear Robert,

thank you very much for sharing with us the process by which you go about tracking refills, medications, prices, etc. This type of information is very helpful to our development team, who can benefit from a better understanding of the "big picture" of what our users are trying to accomplish.

For instance, the idea to integrate alerts had been discussed before but your insight about tracking prices and pharmacy refill information is very useful. You're probably not alone in your efforts to manage Medicare funds.

Thanks again and we will be sure to consider such use cases as our engineers come up with improved interfaces.

‘Pill Management’ can be difficult. Here’s a few things to consider – currently my wife is taking nine prescribed meds and three supplements issued by four different doctors and supplied by five different pharmacies; we are on retired and on Medicare. Being on Medicare and needing some expensive drugs she runs out of the initial $$ coverage limit in early June and we pay full price thereafter. Cheaper prices for the same drugs are available online, but not always at the same company. In general we purchase meds from two local and one mail order(cheaper to buy 90 day supply) pharmacies in the USA for the first half of the year and from the three online pharmacies for the rest of the year.

At the last two doctor appointments three of the nine meds were changed. This entails research for the best prices which I record on a spread sheet for evaluation. Knowing the end date for the prescription is important and which pharmacy has refills available. A “reminder to refill” in the program would be very helpful, as would a spreadsheet like tabulation record showing the refill dates and med quantities(either how many days supply or number of pills).

You are correct that we intend to correct this limitation to the medication record by allowing links to providers (in fact, I just replied to another post of yours where linking to providers would have also been useful).

Medication refills is an interesting area we hope to greatly improve by our next major release. In particular, we believe "pill management" - including supporting tracking information such as the one you brought up, tracking valid dates - will be much more evolved. We hope to get more feedback from individuals who manage multiple medications and for whom remembering to track all of their medications and refills is a significant effort.

Pharmacy Record Suggestions v2.1.6

In Home>Health>Medications – there is no entry box for the name of pharmacy on the medication record, assuming the “Prescriber” entry is intended for the doctor’s name. Please consider adding same on a future revision. Note: unable to link to ‘Organizations’ under ‘Related Information’ since ‘Organization’ is not in the drop down list.

Also please consider changing: “Refills ___ “ to “Refills ___ by xx/xx/xxxx date” in order to record the last date the prescription is valid.

Note: Only two instances of ‘pharmacy’ in the search/Help file, which are unrelated to the above.
