I'm trying to figure out my 2010 elections for health care, and a nice report would have been nice. I'm going to have to export all the expenses to Excel then strip out the Mileage and sum it up. Thanks!

Re: Mileage Rates for 2009

Will you be adding the Mileage Rates for 2009 before the end of the year?
Thanks! :)

Re: Mileage Rates: 2008 (2nd half) and 2009

Thanks a bunch!!!
I just searched and found the rates at http://www.irs.gov/formspubs/article/0,,id=178004,00.html

Re: Mileage Rates: 2008 (2nd half) and 2009

Here's the plug-in.

Thanks again!
Support Team
Re: Mileage Rates: 2008 (2nd half) and 2009

Hi, Drix!

Thank you so much for this update on the tax deduction rates for 2008. We have updated the plug-in for 2008 and it now looks like the image below.

To install the plug-in, please open the zip file in the next post and then double click on the OHSD plug in file. We will update the OpenHealth Service Plug-in directory in the next few days.

We will also be creating a medical mileage deduction plug-in for 2009.

Thanks again - that was great research!
Support Team

Mileage Rates: 2008 (2nd half) and 2009

I'm trying to get my 2008 expenses ready for taxes and start on 2009 expenses. I noticed that the 2008 Federal Mileage rates changed/increased for the 2nd half of the year due to the gas prices.

The business mileage rate was 50.5 cents in the first half of 2008 and 58.5 cents in the second half. The medical and moving rate was 19 cents in the first half and 27 cents in the second half.

Also, the new 2009 standard mileage rates are as follows:
•	55 cents per mile for business miles driven
•	24 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes
•	14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations

The mileage rates for 2009 reflect generally higher transportation costs compared to a year ago, but the rates also factor in the recent reversal of rising gasoline prices. While gasoline is a significant factor in the mileage rate, other fixed and variable costs, such as depreciation, enter the calculation.

Will there also be plug-in/downloads for both 2008 and 2009 Medical mileage in HealthFrame?
