In the metric system “m”(which is not really the small case letter “u” that I used, but rather should be the metric symbol that has the vertical line on the left side of the character) is the same as “mc” meaning micro. So it’s really mg/dL and mc/dL that are the same units of measurement. The laboratories can type the correct ‘m’. I just re-learned how insert a special character.
EDIT: what looks like an m character is suppose to be that metric u. I inserted the special character in Word and it looks OK while in the post screen but after clicking Post the character changes.
